I'm wanting to add NOS to my 98 Accord, 2.3L VTEC. My question is...what's better to run - wet or dry? Also, what would be safe to run on a "stock" (headers, CAI, exhaust) engine? 50 shot at most?

Yeah it's a great idea

...unless you actually like your engine and plan on it running...

nitrous on motors is fine as long as u don't go crazy.. a 50 shop should be fine and u should never have any motor problems.. i have ran it on plenty of vehicles including some leases and have yet to fuck up anything... also a wet system is almost always better but i think u would be fine with a dry... plus its alot simpler installation for only a 50... aso if u do a wet u could bump it up alil bit... maybe a 75 shot

i'd go with wet for definate! you can go with a bigger jet and its safer for the motor. 50-75 shot is fine if you dont plan on abusing it. i ran 100shot on my F22b with stock internals. i only hit it twice. my engine is perfectly fine.

I'm not trying to shoot 200 out of it on a stock engine or anything. Just a bit more HP. If I could do 75 shot safely, that would be ideal but I'm perfectly content with a 50 shot.

Now the thing is...what kit is best? I'm not looking to spend $1K+...why not just turbo it if I'm going to spent gobs of money? What do you think of Edelbrock or Venom?

edelbrock - name says it all! edelbrock is one of the leading names in the automostive industry. but if you want cheap like 400-600 check ebay for some NOS kits. their kits are cheap and work fine. ifyou use a wet kit then 75 shouldnt be a problem at all. if you use it responsibly.

I love my nitrous... but don't kid yourself that it'll be cheap... nitrous is 3.50 to 4.50 per pound and 1 pound will last approx 20 seconds on a 50 shot... that's actually not as bad as it sounds since you usually only hit it for a few seconds at a time, but fill a 10 lb bottle once or twice a month and you might as well put a supercharger on the credit card if you ask me...

Yea I can get the Edelbrock one for about $800...I was looking into ZEX and it seems like it may be a good kit to get. About $500 and it's electronically controlled. What do you guys think?

just don't do like my dumbass friend, 150 dry shot on a bone stock tacoma....he went thro a couple engines....he never did figure out why

i did a wet 100 shot on my 2.2 sohc motor in my old accord wagon. used it probley 10 times and got sick of refilling the bottle. def do a wet shot and dont forget to retard your timing! good luck
