hey whats up, i need some help in building my control arms.

1) im going to be using 1 1/4 .250 wall tubing and im curious as to what size bushings to use (diameter)

2) i need the inner sleeve diameter to be 1/2 so i can use the factory cam bolt for my adjustments...but i cant seem to find them anywere but energy suspensions site but the bushing diameter is only 1 1/4

Get 1 3/4" 1/4" wall tube for the bushing cup.

cool so id use the 1 1/4 bushings then?

thanks for the reply!!!

That would fit inside it. If not you could always hone it out, but they're suppost to fit snug. Or just some 1.5" DOM 1/8" wall. That would be plenty strong, and have a 1.25" ID. Thats just as thick as most stock cups, maybe thicker.

thanks again

No problem. I use the 1/8" wall stuff for mine, and they hold up just fine. If not, I know where you can get some bushings with a 1/2" ID for $5 each. You could narrow them if they're too wide.

how wide we talkin? they need to be 2 1/4 wide, im thinkin of using the 1/8 wall to keep costs down, im making them with 40 pipe as r&d (will not be driven!) just moved through its range of motion to play with ball joint angles and control arm lengths, then ill redo the jigs for what is needed. who would be best to go through for the ball joint sleeves? i want to use the factory screw ins, i checked with a1 racing but still shoping

by the way this is for my 89 dodge ram d-150 in case you were wondering, byc was "supposed to" build them for me but.... nevermind lol

Try Speedway Motors for the screw in bungs.

The bushings are probably about that size. I think you can get them in 2" and 2.5" but I'd have to look again.
