Hey folks, I've been lurking here for a while, and finally decided to sign up.
My newest dually is an 84 C35 GMC. My past duallys have been a 91 Crew Cab, and a 92 Extended cab.
The 91 was a tow pig with a 502/4l80. I used that truck to tow a gooseneck around.
My 92 I had for 5 years, lowered 3 different times, ended up esky clipped and repainted. I put 100k on it and only ever had to do maintenance on it. It was stolen back in early 07 and I never saw her again.
Now I've got a 74 C10 longbox that's been my daily for most of the last 5 years. It's static dropped 5/7 on Dodge 20" steelies. Even as beat up as the body is, the truck turns heads wherever it goes.
Three weeks ago, I picked up my 84 GMC. I went looking for another truck to daily drive so I can really start working on my C10. I found the dually here on Craigslist. It was an old ad, 43 days at the time, the price was stupid low for what it is. It's got a low mile rebuild 454/400 combo with paperwork to back up the mileage claims. I paid 1300 for the truck. Plans for the dually are simple. Swap the 454 with the 350 in my 74, general cosmetic work and hopefully next year, hard static drop on 22" Semi's.
I've been watching a couple threads here, which have given me some great ideas for when I get to do my drop and wheels. I'm glad to be back in a dually, especially when I got a smoking deal on it.
