hmm, everyone is throwin up the good the bad in this whole topic. but i have an idea maybe a stupid one but yet an idea.. why dont the "mags" come up with one mag for around the end of the show season. maybe with a whole lotta shit in it. not just the worthy stuff, and not just the trucks and cars, like a 200 page or 300 page mag of every show combined into one massive 06-07 what ever year remembrance of that years show season?? just an idea

Well, i don't really know what to say other than, most people want to read about and see what the most cutting edge thing is out there at the time. Plus you need to remember magazines have lead time. Trust me, if it is cool in the least little way, they will shoot pics of it. I love when new people come into the scene, i love seeing fresh ideas and approaches on building. I just don't think most people want to read about under construction trucks. Personally i dig under construction trucks, cause i can see where they are going, but to the average person who pick up and purchases a magazine, they don't want to read about those. I commend all builders, new, old, whatever, i know how hard it is to get noticed. I see what you guys are saying, i really do. I just think most want to see finished products in their 8 dollar magazine.

I agree with that, because people want to see what has been done so they can do something else to top that. And you get to see what you have to look forward to.

A lot of people can't see the finished product in the building stages and are probably lost, especially if they are just learning how to build their own. Everyone has different methods to get them from point A to point B. Showing them a work in progress can be a good thing but also might not help them one bit.

I'm personally not interested in always seeing the most expensive and crasiest rides out there (108 tv's in a Hummer H2). If you get tired of seeing the same rides all the time, go to shows you have never been to before. You can't blame anyone for showing off what they have built and traveling great lengths to do it, that's part of the fun!

Sheesh I wish I had the money and time to go to every show! I know guys that work on their rides all winter then just about go broke showing their trucks and cars at tons of shows. They have nice big tow pigs and big ole trailers! A lot of these guys you are referring to treat their trucks and shows like a business, if nobody see's it then you cant take pics of it (local shows usually dont count). In the end its all just another money game, if you have the money and skill to build a bad ass truck or car and can still afford to go all over the country to big shows.... well kinda explains itself huh!

Get it done and out in front of people if you want the attention. Leave it at home and cry about it if you are broke.

I see your point but honestly i wouldnt buy a mag if i couldn't see the best of the best rides.i think the MT does a really great job of mixing up the vehicles in each issue.think about why you dont see many new vehicles.....the shows that get big coverage are where the top notch rides go and the photographers follow.no one will go to a show in a small town to shoot a 50 ride show even if 45 of them are show worthy.chances are they dont know it exists.Go to shows have fun man life is too short to worry about being featured

Sometimes there are only a few trucks at a show that are worthy of being shown. Theres only so many bagged s-10s that we can see.

these trucks dont happen over night takes months to years to build

Just a comment on diversity in mag's. I really like what MT has done to include features on rides from around the world. Their recent coverages on Australia and Japan have been most interesting. I like to see the influence we have on other countries as far as trends and vice versa.
