Ok ive got an 97 s10 with the 2.2 and when i start it it will idle fine but if i go to push the gas it dies its got a new fuel filter i was told the sending unit could be burnt up because me gas gauge is fucked up too but i just bypased it to see if enything would change its got a new pump i just cant figure it out

sell it and get another truck. LOL put a inline guage into the fuel system to see what pressure u are running.

Alright i just got it back and there is so much ghetto shit its unbelieveable

its a problem with the fuel pressure, check it with a gauge, then check the pump that was installed. if you ran that pump with a clogged filter then you most likely burnt up the new one.

I got mine from a performance shop around here. Since yers needs a higher pressure one, u most likely should get a "kit" from a tool truck. (snapon, matco, etc)

A friend of mines truck with a 2.2 did the same but it had a clogged catlytic converter

if yours has a mass air flow sensor that is probably what it is
