Make a Chevy 1-wire fit. So damn easy tire wire up. Just a few slight mods to your bracketry, or the alternator. I got a chrome one for less than $100, and it puts out 100 amps.

i was thinking about doing something like that but was hoping to find out if there was anywhere i could get one for my truck (if there is then it should be about the same price and i won't have to modify the brackets)

I doubt there is one for your truck. You can usualy just grind about an 1/8" off the alternatore and they fit. Same pulley, great price, easy to wire. Just run one wire to the starter adn you're good.

ok i got a 1 wire chevy alternator but my dumass didn't even think about checking out my truck to see if it would work... i don't think it will work now that i have looked at it (there's a few wires that run off of my alternator) anyways would it be hard to run dual alternators.. has anyone done this... it looks like it wouldn't be hard to put it where my smog pump is-- then just wire it up to a second battery (i have 2 optimas) and wire up an isolator-- then just run my stock stuff off one and my compressors, etc. off of the other. From my knowlege normally isolators are designed to seperate the batteries when the vehicle is off but i think i would want to keep them seperated full time so i don't fry anything with the alternators crossing paths... Anyways if anyone actually read all this does this sound like a good plan, let me know. thanx
