Its getting close to bagging time and im trying to figure out what bag im going to need. My question is: How much weight do you think a fully loaded 40ft gooseneck will apply on the back of the truck. The bags will already have to hold up 3000lbs (truck itself)+ whatever i throw on back.

There will not be a lot of weight on your truck unless you have a 3-4 car hauler with a car above your bed, then your truck will have the weight of that car on its back. I have Contitech 3600s on the back of my dually and I can pull a loaded 3 car wedge with a Durango, ex cab Ranger, and a 720 on it with no problem.

Hmm, so 2 3800lb bags will hold up anything i throw on there?

lockone, Doesnt your dually have a small block in it? How does it do pulling that kind of weight?

That was when it had a 454 and wasn't b/d. However I have pulled that weight on flat groud with the small block before it just doesn't like going up hill. The small block I have in it now is fully built for towing with alot of lowend torque.

Thats what is gonna suck on mine, i build the truck to handle any kind of weight i can throw on there, but it wont wanna pull it. Ill eventually throw in a 454 with a throttle body or something.

i did a motor swap with the 350 Vortec and 4L80E in my boxstyle. Its about the same as the 454 TBI that was in the truck.....still doesnt like hills....
