Ok i have a 98 chevy EX-cab truck and i need to remove the cab to do a stock floor body drop, un less i go old school, but how heavy is the cab or what does everyone use to get theirs off the frame? i'm not in a shop i'm in my garage, so a lift is out of the question

jack the truck up super high then put jacks under the cab and drop the frame out, i did it on a same year standard cab...what i do is when i start dropping the frame down slide a piece of steel stock under the cab side to side between the frame and keep it like 6 feet long so the jacks for the body are wider than the wheels and it makes it easier to roll the frame with wheels still on out from under the cab. If its gonna be awhile i recommend tacking the stock to the rocker for cheap insurance in case somebody bumps into it...its real easy to do, heavier than shit and it was my only option cause i work solo
