02 grill insert

ok, so i got my billet insert for my tacoma today, but the directions on what to cut out are confusing as hell. Any tech articles for this? or does anyone have pics of the inside of their grill shell after doing this?

I just put one in my 01 and it is a little pain in the a$$. Make sure that you do not cut off completely any part of the stock grille that attaches to the truck. It takes some time and you may have cut a little at a time so that you do not cut off too much at once. You cut off all of the ugly vertical black grille, but becareful around the moutning areas. You want to leave about a 1/4 inch of the plastic for it to be strong enough to still hold to the truck. You may also want to try www.customtacos.com, maybe they may have more input, as my directions were not all precise either, but it is not too hard to figure out.

yea, i posted on CT too, haha, but thsnks. I was think it was just making room for it to slide inbetween the mounting posts on it and getting it flush, but i wasn't sure. thanks

It wasn't that easy unfortunately, it took cutiing and more cutting until I got it to fit right. Don't forget to install the hood latch extender though!
