ok i just replaced my slave cylinder, becasue it went bad , truck wouldnt go in or out of gear. so after installing the new one and bleeding the system, i still cant get a constant flow of fluid to the hand held self bleeder, and it still wont fully engage or disengage the the clutch , with the wheels off of the ground and the clutch pressed in the wheels spin as if it where in gear , also it wont shift smoothly, plus it wont go into reverse. the clutch is firm when pressed down , so what the heck is the problem

look on the inside of the cab and look at the clutch master cylinder where the rod sticks out, my master was leaking from there thats why it wouldn't bleed. the reason it won't bleed is the clutch master cylinder is bad, they are like 30 bucks just go buy one plus they are easy to install. also if you are have trouble with clearance, i suggect you put one off a 1987 model because they are like an inch shorter, plus they bolt up the same without modifications. hope this helps chad

on my truck there were 2 places to bleed out all the air when i took out my master cylinder. there was a bleeder on the firewall and a bleeder on the tranny. might wanna check for another bleeder?

the best thing to do with an old system is to replace both components the slave and the master. when replacing one it puts to much stress (pressure) on the other causing it to fail. kinda like putting a new bottom end in a motor and not doing a valve job.

I have had the same prob put a hose on it just crack it littly and put the hose in a bottle and walk away. Check the master every few min and top off. Let it drain 2 or 3 bottles full. Tighten up then pump the pedal up and man blead it 2 or 3 times It should be read then. I have also used an air vac bleeder were u put an air hose on a bleeder pump and that works very well but the tools are just not cheap.
