that is the way they say to install the ball joint... you can't flip them down cause the ball joint is tapered and if i flip it down it will not fit on the spindle... so it has to go that way. i did cut out the bag mount off so i can redo everything. and i did mount the ball joint under the lower arm rather that on top like the pic shows

what kind of spindle is that than? ill make you a drawing of why that is wrong

yeah dont worry ross, you did it right.

the second picture in that thread shows the UCA hitting the spindle at less than full lift. Mine did the same thing, just trim them.

BTW I got that tip from LoFrontier soooo long ago. If isomeone has a link to his fokti photo album still you can see the trimming he did.

forward your drawing to AIM because thats how they install. Mazda drop spindles from AIM suck ass, but there is no other maker.

these are chasis tech spindles unless that is the same as aim, i dont know! i did trim my upper arm and i am getting a little more travel, now the upper arm isnt hitting the spindle, but i am maxing out my upper ball joint which is going to prevent me from getting more lift.

Well, then you can cut your UCA and re-angle your Ball Joint if you have the travel to do it and still layout...

Not sure why your having so much trouble with only 17's :/

I had stock all suspension on my mazda (that got stolen 2 months ago) on 18's and with slams it lifted like 3" above the tire with no binding...and thats bodydropped 2".

So i dunno man, wish i could be of more assistance!

hey russ, if you see this, when you say the drop spindle sticks out an inch, you mean the track width is actually changed by 2 inches?

ya that is another thing i really dont like w/ the drop spindles i did push my wheel out quite a bit. i am running fwd wheels and i am going to have to roll the lip on my fender cause the wheels just barely rub when i set the truck down

i had the same problem

anyone know an exact measurement of how much the trac width changed?
