i love poker. you know i played in 2 online tournys to try and qualify, actually 3. here is how it went, i missed winning a seat over some douche playin ignorant cards.
i won a tourny online that had about 2200 people in it. that advanced me to semi final tourney which had 1800 in it or so. i placed 3rd in that one. top 27 from that one advanced to final tourney where the top 2 won a 10k seat in the WSoP, 1000 cash and hotel stay. final tourny had 850 players in it.
its down to 11 people, its almost final table right. im 3rd high chip stack left in the game. i get delt KQ suited hearts. i raise the blind up 40k. both blinds and the button fold. one guy calls me. he is the highest chip stack at the table. im thinking, ok he is callin me with pocket A,K,Q,J or 10 at least cause he wasnt in a blind. Coulda been callin with a lower pocket pair but it was unlikely since i raised that much he would call with mid pair. so anyway.. FLOP comes out heart, heart, heart. Im king high flush off the flop with a potential straight flush draw since the 9 and 10 of hearts are sittin out there. i check it to him, he best the minimum bet so i go all in. he immediatly calls me. cards flip up and he is holding a black and red card. A7. im like wtf is he calling me for. why is he even in this hand. he's not paird, suited, connected, in a blind or nothing. next card comes on the turn and its a rag, no help to him. river comes 2 of hearts. his A was a heart. he wins with Ace high flush and puts me out.
It was total bullshit. He shoulda never even been in that hand to start with. If i woulda won that hand i woulda been so stacked up on chips i coulda coasted the rest of the way and placed 2nd and won my seat. i havent played online since.
