I want to run a belt driven compressor. What are the pluses and minuses of a belt driven compressor? I want to keep my factory air and have a 4.3 V6 in fullsize truck. What's everybodies opinion?

They kick a**. The only downside I feel is checking the oil and the coalescing filter. I would never go back to electric comp. I would use hydros first.

I was told that you can get a york compressor from Auto Zone and make the brakets for it. It is suppose to be the same compressor you get in kits from Suicidedoors, only cheaper and without the mounting brakets. Is this true?

yes and no, the air lift compressors that sd sells have a different type of piston but a regular york from napa or autozone will also work fine.

I just got mine running today and it KICKS ASS! it is so much faster than electric and much easier on the electrical system. I used my stock A/C compressor so we will see how long it holds out.
