So here's the deal. We've got a 95 Civic 4 Door that we purchased a new Extreme Dimensions body kit for through Sport Compact Only here in Az. We get the kit, take it out of the box, and right off the bat we notice a problem with the rear bumper. The lip on the top where it mounts to the car is really thin and short. Its like a 1/2" long and needs to be another good inch. Its not even possible to try to mount it to the car. So we call and they say that we have to make a bracket for it to work. They said all body kits need modifications which i can understand to a certain extent, but this is b/s in my mind. I get a friend of mine who does this stuff for a living and he says there is no way to even mount a bracket to. First of all the bracket will be visible on the car and there just isnt enough fiberglass to work with. It will break and fall off in a matter of days.

My question is did anyone else have to make a bracket for there bumper to mount? Neither Sport Compact Only or Extreme Dimensions will replace it so we can either try to mount it somehow or buy another. I would think that you buy a product that it would be ready to mount, not need a bunch of custom work just for it to mount to the damn car.

Here is what i am talking about. If you hold the bumper to the car the edge of this piece is almost an inch from where you mount it to the car.

thats not exactly the greatest picture to work with. i understand your saying its the trunk lip section... which usually isnt that thick anyways. your saying theres no way of mounting this.. did you cut off the rear metal bumper behind the stock one you took off. this will give you more clearance and might make it easier to mount up. i know on a 95 accord, a 98 civic and a 92 civic which all had vis racing body kits we had to remove the metal rear bumper so that everything would line up properly...

oh yea and also most body kits need modifications to fit... drilling, removal of stock shit, all kinds of fun shit. ive had my fair experience with body kits they arent all that much fun.. my bad im kinda out of it also. i just realized thats the wheel well area of the body kit your gonna have to push in and mount it up they are kinda of a bitch.. the rear bumpers always suck thats why alot of people mold them on also..

This is the 3rd body kit on this car. Never had any problems like this before. I guess different manufactures have different ways of dealing with defects or customer relations.
