whats up fellas.. ok heres the deal, my girlfriend has a 2001 mustang. Automatic 6 cyl. well today the car just died, like completly shut off, and wouldnt start again and i have no idea what it could be.. Heres a few querks the car is doin rite now, with the keys in the ignition if u try to roll the windows up all the digital displays (mileage, clock, CD display) all turn off, then turn back on again when u release the window button, when u try to start the motor it has a really weak idle at like 400 500 rpm for like 3 secs then just dies, even if im pushing the gas peddle. and the trunk release located in the glove box doesnt wanna work.. im thinkin it has to be somthing electrical but me n fords dont mix.. haha.. so if anyone has any input or suggestions or even knows whats wrong hit me up..

Thanks in advance JAMES

open the truck on the left side is a fuel pump cut off switch. check and make sure it has not been "tripped"

also check your fuses

check the ground wire in the trunk behind the left wheel panel, mine broke and did some weird shit, like the gauges acting funny and the dome light came on when the brakes where pressed and the trunk release quit also. if not that then the GEM module on the drivers side kick panel check the connections on it it services all that electrical stuff.

This might sound stupid but have you tried jumping the car? If the car runs with cables hooked up you might have a bad alternator or a bad battery. A lot of your cars systems must see certain voltage to work, including PCM. Rule out the simple stuff first.

yeah, sounds like a battery or alt problem to me too...

sounds like insufficent power. check all the battery cables from end to end, make sure they are tight and free of corrosion. and also like everyone else said make sure the battery has a good charge. if not do a V8 swap. tell her that a V8 should fix it.
