the bead on a semi tire is deferent then that on acar and my under standing is you don't take a full 1/4" off and it needs to be right to keep air in and the tire on
now my opinion: It's cheeper to have someone do it that has done it before and knows how to do it because thay have already payed for the mistakes. or as Ilike to say "If you can get someone to pay for your mistakes it gives you more beer money"

now thats a whole dime worth a wisdom right their

somewhat off subject... but how much do you have to raise/widen/maketaller/fix/however you wanna word it the rear fenders ta make 22s fit?

i am think i got a new job and $$$$$$ will be less tight around the house so i can finish my bitch up on some big wheels

I raised my fenders up to the bottom of the body line and didnt have to widen them because I swaped the rearaxle.

I RAISED AND WIDENED MINE 2 INCHES. I AM RUNNING 16'S WITH THE STOCK 225/75/16. WHICH MEASURE OUT TO 29 INCHES +/-. NOT SURE IF IS ENOUGH FOR A 22. (WIDTH WISE). BUT MY FUTURE PLAN ONLY CALL FOR A 19 AND THAT LOAD RATED TOYO 255/55/19, OR WHAT EVER SIZE IT IS.

ON THE SUBJECT, I'VE ALWAYS BEEN CURIOUS AND KINDA WEARY OF RUNNING A CUT DOWN 22 AND LOW PRO JUST FOR THE LACK OF BEAD WALL SURFACE. DOES ANY ONE KNOW ANY ANY MISS HAPS FROM THIS PROCESS. I KNOW A LOT OF TRUCKS RUN THE STOCK 16 ON THE INSIDE TO CARRY THE WEIGHT, BUT WHAT ABOUT THE FRONT, EXPECIALLY ON THE CREW CABS. THATS A LOT OF WEIGHT ON A TIRE THAT IS NOT DESIGNED FOR IT. (JUST THINKING OUT LOUD)

the only time you should be sorry is if you nailed your ol'ladys sister/best freind(what have yea) and you woke her up and got cought.

but still pleed denial

YOU'LL DEFINATLY HAVE TO RAISE THE FENDERS. MINE AND LOCKS AND MOST OF THE ONES I'VE SEEN ARE RAISED TO THE BODY LINE. ABOUT 2 INCHES, AND YOU'LL CLEAR HEIGHT WISE. WIDTH WISE, YOU'LL EITHER HAVE TO WIDEN THE FENDERS LIKE I DID, OR NARROW(OR SWAP OUT) YOUR AXLE LIKE LOCK DID.

Another jack here...

but if ya swap rears to the narrow bread truck do ya run into clearence on the inner wheel tubs and the frame rail? Assuming stock rails and tubs are in place?
