Alright so I just bought this truck, and there's a bunch of just wrong with it. (If you know a cheap place to buy headlights, corner lights, grills, front bumpers, and a bed...let me know)

One thing that's wrong with it though is the ebrake doesn't stay on, or even come on period. It doesn't make that clicking sound like I would think it should, sometimes you can get it to stick by grabbing the brake release handle. Anyone have this problem and fix it? I'm new to s10's, and this one needs a lot of work. Any help or ideas would be awesome, thanks guys...

I have a 2000 and if you look up underneath the dash right above the e-brake pedal you will see where a spring that should push back a metal leaver that makes that click sound and locks the E-brake. Your spring is probably bad, but you can still push back that metal leaver to lock your brake. Mine failed to because the spring went bad and broke its an easy fix, and I'll bet money thats whats wrong with yours. good luck

you will have to pull the underside panels and stick your head wayt up in there.. its at the top of the metal bracket. if i can find one that isnt in a truck laying around i'll post a pic for ya.

Haha....good point, I could use this e-brake thing as an excuse to lay the truck out...it'd be aboooooooout the same amount of time and money as fixing the ebrake I'm sure...

(And thanks Potter)
