Thats a good carb but a bit too much for a stock B2200.

The 38 dgas is a two 38 mm barrel (D) g body ( G the right one for a B2200) water choke ( A likely electric now though, three screws swap it out) syncronous opening (S both barrels open simultaneously, not progressively like the V)

Since both barrels open at the same time instead of opening the samll barrel at part throttle and both at full, gas mileage will be less. Also, its tough to tune that much air entering the engine at low rpm. The benefit is better top end power than the 32/36, but I still think the 32/36 DGEV is a better carb for the B2200. Given the larger and more powerful engine it came from, I'll bet you will need to change both the idle and main jets.

My advice: sell the 38 DGAS and use the money to buy a 32/36 DGEV. You can buy just the intake and linkage adapter though and bolt that carb on, but I think you will spend a good deal of time trying to tune it for a 2.2.

I've got a 38DGAS on my b2000 and it made the world of difference. The thing idles like it should, gets on it better than ever, and I got about 25mpg on the last fill up.

yep, I agree. I had a 38 DGAS on a mazda and it was a huge improvement over stock. But it took a long time to tune so it wasnt running rich, and then I had a 32/36 and it was like night and day. Its a good carb, and anythings better than a stock carb, but he can use the higher value to his advantage and almost get a brand new 32/36. I sold my 38 on ebay with adapter for 312 + ship, a new mazda 32/36 kit is 350.
