I'm definately not a fan of NOPI. I think it is possible for imports and Mini Trucks to co-exist, but not "rice" and Mini Trucks. It's not right for a bagged and body dropped fully shaved nissan to be sitting beside a civic with a 30" tall wing and a bolted on body kit with a Fast and the Furious banner across the windshield. I think that any vehicle that is heavily Mini Truck inspired should be welcome at a Mini Truck show, but I don't think it needs to be a 9 to 1 (imports to trucks) at the Mini Truck Nationals.

Minitruckers vs. Ricers is such bullshit

Look, I have been in minitrucking since the late 80's, but I am also a car enthusiast. Those individuals that bitch about one or the other, to me are close minded.

Now I have seen cars/trucks that i like and some that i don't. It cuts both ways, but again I am a automotive enthusiast with many tastes.

If Nopi has become an import show, so be it. Supply and demand dictates business decisions everyday. I have never been to Nopi and i don't know the promoter, so I don't have dog in that fight.

But i will say it again, if you didn't like the show you attended, start your own,, run it the way you like it.

its not the cars/trucks, its the retards who drive them that do the stupid stuff and make both from either crowd look bad. if i see a clean import ill check it out maybe even talk to the guy just cuz he loves customizing his ride just as much as i do mine.

Charlie already announced that the mini-truck nats will go on next year at the same place August 10-12 right before the awards ceremony. I don't want to see it die, I want to see it revert back to the way it was... mini-trucks. Mini-truckers complain about not having a good show to drag at, but they missed one this year (Southern Slam Session 3). I recommend putting the Southern Slam Session 4 on your calendars because they have legal draggin' all weekend long on the show grounds, otherwise, you'll be waiting until Heritage in September which I would recommend all mini-truckers attend. The facility at Southern Slam Session is good-to-go and there is a lot of potential there. Not to mention plenty of hotels around, be it in Hopkinsville, KY or in Clarksville, TN (right down the road).

I don't like the cops in Pigeon Forge, it is a little crowded down there, and hotel costs are high... though it is the original mini-truck nats... I may cover it next year. Herb and Sandy invite me to cover it every year. Even when it rains it has pretty good attendance.
