I am wanting to build a frame table. It will be initially for my Dodge but hopefully sometime in the near future it will be used more. I want to make it out of I beam. I want it to be simple and easy to take apart for storage. I plan to make it 16 feet long, adjustable width, and adjustabel height. My main question is what size and weight I beam shoud I use. Thanks for any help!

I guess I could add how I want to build it. I've seen one just like on here but I can't seem to find it. I want to use two 16 foot pieces of I beam that the frame will sit on. Then two 4 foot piece of I beam that the legs will attach to. The table will look like this # but be 16 foot long and 4 foot wide. The adjustable legs will be attached at each end of the 4 foot pieces. Hope that helps some. Thanks

I was going to make mine from some I-beam's but i wanted to be able to disassemble it by myself so that Idea was out. Instead I made mine from 3x3x1/4" main beams 12" with 3 non adjustable 3x3x1/4" cross beams, and then I made 4 surface tables that are adjustable along the length every 4.5". My table is 66" in width that way I can setup axle/hub plates much easier with having to add side extensions.

my table is 6x6 ibeam... just the rectangular main section is almost 500 lbs.... that way any frame or complete vehicle i put on it will not flex it.

Do you know what weight the I beam is. I was going to use either 6 or 8. Went to get a price and there is like 10 different weights you can get. I don't want to over do it but I definately don't want to under do it. I'm a washed up college o-lineman with 10 o-lineman friends. Moving the tables won't be a problem. I'm not worried about weight. I just don't want any flew out of it. Thanks
