so i have a 99 ranger that i want to z the front end now to lay flat. how much do i need to z the front for twenties? hope some one can tell me cause it looks like i need roughly 3.5 in, but i do not want to cut my hood, what do you guys think?

2" z is gonna be cuttin it colse for a stock hood, i z'ed my 99 ranger 2" and that made the front crossmember level with the frame. Have some stock cut to raise your top control arm mount on the frame and you will be good to go on twenties laying frame with everything working perfect

thanks man your truck looks awesome. but 2" sounds good to me. i am gonna rip it apart and double check to make sure that will be enough. but that makes more sense with a stock hood.

make sure that the frame is completely bare while you do the z or else it will twist...i dont know how people can do it with the motor still in and get it all lined up

are you doing a sfbd or just z'ing the factory frame? Also are you running 20's all around or just in the front? 2" will bring the factory frame even with the front crossmember. It sounds like you aren't laying crossmember right now though, if your measurements were 3.5"

I did my z with engine and body in place. granted I didn't do a stock floor like jfcustoms

i was told 2 and 1/2 inches to z the frame..
