While im cruising down the road at a normal speed(25-65) i hear a light grinding sound. when i let off the gas, it gets a lot worse. sounds like im rubbing tire on something, but im not. could this be a tie rod in the front with bushings bad? or could this possibly be a drive shaft issue. is there a sound that a shaft makes when its not balanced proporly or when the u joints are going.

any help is appreciated. i need this taken care of now!

centered? u mean pinion angle, or centered in the middle of the truck? the pinion angle is strait at drive height, and very litle movement when up or down. everything looks straight between frame rails. could being unbalance have anything to do with the noise? if so, what can be done about that, so do i need a new drive shaft

Does your pumpkin get hotter than normal? Mine is doing the same and my buddy touched the pumpkin after a night of cruisin(he know's his shit)which was hotter than normal and he said that i need to rebuild it cause it's most likely shot shot. They're suppose to get a little warm but you will know if it's too warm by the heat. Today mine felt like a hot pan... Check it out.

usually u-joints and axles will let off a loud squeak or schreach if you will rather than a grind. Do you have drums in the back? could be old bad wheel cylinders stuck open. Could be the wear indicater on the brake pads on the front. A couple of days ago, my grease cap on my front wheel came of and was sliding around in my center cap making a terrible noise. Also, i've had my exhaust pipe come loose and rub the driveshaft just enough to drive you crazy. Just check all of the parts that rotate, driveshaf, axle, wheels, and see if anything is hanging down or touching where it doesnt need to be...hope this helps

how would i check this. do u mean the drum case being cracked open? when the truck was in the shop last, i noticed the drum case opened on the passenger side when the wheel was off... i just thought that was normal. does this sound like the problem
