Im not gonna make a new thread for this but uh anyways i have a corolla, im wanting to redo my door panels, pics are below of what they currently look like, im interested in maybe doing either carbon fiber wrap or fiberglass. What material could I use to make a new backing/template for the door panels if i wanted to do the carbon fiber wrap? The original cardboad style backing needs to be replaced. If I wanted to do fiberglass, what as my backing would I use. Im not planning on using my original panels but just for templates for the new panel to fit the door.

btw, what type of surface/material can the carbon fiber wrap cover

I DON'T KNOW WHAT LOOK YOU ARE AFTER! BUT I CAN TELL YOU CARBON FIBER WILL COST MORE THAN THE CAR IS WORTH. I DON'T MEAN TO DISCOURGE YOU. I AM A AIRCRAFT MECH. WITH VERY LITTLE EXPERIENCE IN CARBON FIBER. I KNOW C.F. IS MORE DIFFICULT TO WORK WITH THAN FIBERGLASS. IF YOU WANT TO BUID ALL NEW DOOR PANELS I THINK YOU SHOULD USE FIBERGLASS, BUT IF YOU ONLY WANT TO REDO A PORTION OF YOUR DOOR PANEL THEN YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO USE CARBONFIBER.

i rethought that post after i made it and realized also that nobody would understand what i wrote, not to mention myself haha, sorry bout that, but I have since rethought my ideas, Im wanting to do either tweed or fiberglass, If i do tweed im wanting to do smooth straight down panels. For tweed, what do i need to use as the backing for the tweed to wrap over?

On fiberglass panels is there any previous topics with info to build some from scratch? The design that I would do with fiberglass is also smooth and straight down with a minor raised area for the speaker to mount.
