Gas prices are down here, but with Memorial Day just around the corner, I am sure they will be shooting up again. I have two Fords now, a 97 F150 V6 and a 93 Supercab 5.0. Neither one ever sees decent gas mileage. That is not the question though. What kind of mileage do most of you see with a crew cab dually? Diesel OR gas, Big or Small block, manual or auto. I am kinda looking for either a diesel or 350 manual at the salvage auctions. What kind of gas mileage would be an average for a one ton truck? What are you getting? I need the extra crew cab room for the family and the dually option to tow with about 3 times a month. But this would for the most part be my work truck daily driver. Opinions?

Chevy Duallys usually get around 15mpg. Thats with the 350 or 454 Vortecs or the 6.5 diesel. All 3 engines will get about the same. I would stay away from the older TBI motors because their mileage can get as low as 7mpg. Each truck will vary but that is about average from all that Ive heard.

NICE! Im a HUGE fan of 5spd trucks. I almost swapped a 5spd into my dually. My daily driver is a V8 5spd GMC Sierra. I LOVE EM!
