I am having concerns about bagging my 1966 Lincoln Continental. This is a long post, but I would really appreciate if anyone/everyone could read it & give me their 2-cents. I am using Slam Specialties 7

You'll have to build a bolt in X-member for the upper bag mounts. The sub frame is stamped steel so don't try and weld to it! You might have to tub the rear depending on how low you want it to go and what size wheels you are rolling.

Right on, so you like the parallel 4-link? I agree w/ not welding to the sub frame, I like the X member idea if the 4-link is what I end up going with.

I plan to lay rocker on 22's. The fenderwells will get tubbed and some tunneling for the driveshaft probably.

- Thanks, keep it coming.

The couple of Lincolns that I've seen have been rocking 2 links but my buddy Big LEE will preach that the parallel link is the only way to go. Either way will work. The most difficult part is the panhard bar on the parallel.

So would it be safe to say that a panhard bar is NOT needed if you run a 2-link welded solid to the axle?

here is some pics of a bad a** 67 http://www.relaxed-atmosphere.com/Relaxed/default.aspx?page=ride&id=31140&isSSM=True

I have a 66 havent started much on it but I have learned that the 462 is a dog and if it goes out the rebuild kit is $1600 Thats poo so i got a 460 out of a 78 ford f-250 and I am planing a cell in the wheel well but i will see that when I get to that point I do know that every thing for that car is stupid expensive. I have some places for parts but I still need both lower qtr panels. and I also decided to gut the a/c that made a lot more room in the eng carpement but good luck with it and keep me posted on what you decided to do

To lay all the way down on 22s, the driveshaft hump is going to need to be raised all the way up to under the front seats. In addition to tubbing the rear wheelwells, the center of the trunk pan may need to be raised for axle clearance.
Y'know, it might just be too much work- why don't you just let me take that car off your hands and save you the trouble!!!
Good luck, and keep the project updated with photos!!

We did a 64 and a 67 at the shop. Also working on another 64 an a 67. Put a triangle 4 link on the rear. Bags on the bars. Worked good. Took forever to figure out though
