I as some of you know was having a string of bad luck last week. Well on my way home from class while driving my sonoma, it started to spit and sputter close to my house and finally died. I thought maybe the gas gauge was messed up and that it had ran out of gas. Well that wasnt the case. I'm guessing its the fuel pump because i checked the fuses and they are all good. When you crank it over it will crank a little bit and act like it wants to start but just chokes out like its not getting enough gas. So I am going to buy a new fuel pump today and I need to know the easiest way to go about this. Since its in the tank, should i just unbolt the bed and lift it up a little bit cause i really don't feel like dropping the tank and shit. Or if anybody thinks it might be something else feel free, i'm open to suggestions.

well if its just like my buddies 96...then yes... the bed has 8 bolts. its a lot easier to just take off the bed than to drop the tank out the bottom.

yeah it sounds like the fuel pump to me too...its easier to take the bed off prolly....my 94 sonoma did that same thing, i think i replaced mine twice.....possibly a clogged fuel filter as well??

when i had my 96 s-10 i had the same problem and i unbolted my bed i found that to be the easiest way plus i had a full tank of gas and i was not about to take it all out then unbolt the gas tank im half lazy sometimes tho. i would also check the fuel filter too like igodown said
