mids and highs

i want to redo my factory speaker and replace them with component speakers and run amps to them.the problem i have is with the wiring. what do i do with my factory wiring for the speakers?do i use the factory wiring or run my own? whats some good component sets?

You can do it either way. Depends on much work you want to put into it. If you are going to run an amp to aftermarket component sets, then i would take the time and effort to run the extra speaker wire. ON THE OTHER HAND, i dont think that you are going to notice much of a sound difference if you just go ahead and use your factory wiring. It is easier also just to use the factory wiring. when i workd at best buy, unless specified, all installs used the factory wiring.

Good component sets....well depends on how deep your pockets are...if you like to spend money, i would go with focal or image dynamics....but just stay away from your jensen's and audiovox and radio shack brands. good luck with your set up....

how would i use my factory wire from the component sets to the amps

i would gut the factory and run the new cables. you are going to be running a lot more power to them and want to do it right. i disagree...it will sound better and be safer. I tried it a couple of cars ago and now i always re-run the wiring... i think starting from scratch is the best. I only use INFINITY for highs and mids..check'em out for yourself.....not everyone likes the music the same way...find your taste....(the above comment was assuming you are running a halfway decent amp...not a 25-watter to the speakers---)

I've installed several complete systems and i have one in my daily. I have a set of kicker componets in the front running off of a kicker 600.4. What i did was run rca's from my screen to my amp and from my amp, i ran the speaker wires back up to where the head unit is and just tapped into the factory systems wires .. i have tried both and have never noticed a diffrence.. factory wire is efficent enough to work and i have been running this setup for almost a year so far and have had no probems with it.. and mine is a saturn so it has cheap factory wires..

what brett said. tap in behind the radio and run wires from there to the amp inputs. i install for curcuit city and thats what we do. now, if ur going for focal performance and sound and u wanna run some big shit, id go ahead and take the time to run all fresh wiring to each speaker.

as far as speakers, it all depends on your preference for music. i have all infinity kappas in my truck with an eclipse head and alpine 4 channel. sounds amazing. but, different people prefer different sound quality. check around at some stereo shops and figure out what you like as far as sound and go with it. most reputable shops will have displays for you to hear speakers and the different sounds of each.
