that is sweet! trucks look so much better with the stock hood than with a cowl. i've heard a lot of good things on SCD. your truck is still smoggable with the mods? looks killer!

we just lowered my motor, sectioned the oil pan and chopped up the intake manifold to make it lower,, but then again, mines only a 4 cyl, but a 20 inch tall fender is a 20 inch tall fender either way. looks good!

LOOKS LIKE THEY REMOVED THE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR, TURNED THE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK AROUND AND BOLTED IT STRAIGHT TO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. PROLLY MORE INVOLVED THAN THAT IM SURE THO.

Yeah a little more but basicly the same idea. had to make all the smog work and extend egr valve and make a new intake, machine a new adapter to clear the valve cover but for a stock hood i'm really happy. thanks for all the props ....them SCD guys are awesome.

damn, that took a lot of ingenuity. I'll have to check out there site. Do they plan on selling the machined piece so others can rock a factory hood?

I talked to them about that and they said they might consider doing it if there is a lot of intrest in getting it done. Most if not the majority of tacoma being built are 4 cylinders....dumb ass me decided to body drop a V-6 and had to work harder..haha. I'll ask them today when I swing by Mike in the mean time hit up there site and post a tag showing interest and see what they say.

Wholy chit that looks tight!! Thatnks for the props chris. I have a few pics of the work but not much to see but a Sh** load of vacuum lines. its pretty much the upper intake plenem only. The upper and lower one use the same bolt pattern. A spacer was machined to raise the upper one over the valve cover on the driver side. The EGR valve needed to be spaced away from the manifold to clear the oil fil cap. Then a new line was fabricated to run it back the header. A custom intake was then made and all the vacuum lines were extended to the new position. The electrical also had to be extended to the other side as well. There are about 14 different vacuum lines of varying sizes so make sure you keep them in order. A custom throttle linkage bracket was made to allow the cables to bolt back on in the same position as stock. Engine light is off and it runs great. All the original smog equipment was keep. Those interested in getting one we may be offering the intake spacer and the throttle bracket in a package. Probably be around $275 plus whatever shipping. Check out our site and email us if interested. WWW.SCDFabrication.Com
