Ok i got a steal from my buddy on a new grant gt steering wheel that i couldnt pass up. I want to put it on my 95 ranger daily but when i called advance about an adapter he said you can't put aftermarket steering wheels on vehicles with airbags. I think its a crock of shit because i see it all the time. So if i do find the adapter for my ranger whats the best way to go about removing a steering wheel with an airbag? I know to remove the battery terminal first or pull the fuse but what else do i need to do?

This is the wheel i have:

This is the wheel i want to put in it.

Buy the adaptor for the 92 I believe and just remove the wheel and put it on.

what about the airbag? Once the battery and/or fuse is disconnected do i just pull the front of the steering wheel off? The middle part?

There are bolts on either side, remove those, the bad will come off then then use a puller for the wheel. Then rip out the horn stiff and install.

so you think the installation kit for the 89-94 Ford Ranger will work?

yes it will, just remember to tkae your clock spring out, and your horn wont work. and if you take the air bag bulb out, it will ding.

the dinger won't be a problem, i ripped that out years ago...

Yeah, I had to pull the airbag control module out from under the cupholders to get mine to quit dinging.

Anyone hook up a horn yet or should I get another button?
