Soo I just recently completely redid my dually... to find out that the new (8k miles) gm replacement 350 has a lower end noise... soooo

The motor is coming back out probably this week and its going to the door... My question is whats the exact measurement that will be needed to go to the doors??

Any other specific issues beside the steering arm... frame horns, wiring, etc. Of course im going to loose the inner fenders and tub the firewall for 22s... but is there anything else cab/front end wise I should plan on encountering??

thanks in advance!!

Tranny tunnel/carrier bearing clearance, lowering motor, section front bumper/take lower valance off (whichever floats your boat), lose heat & A/C box and replace with Vintage Air. I think that is about all you forgot besides some little minor stuff wires and hoses. In the rear you will have to raise the dually fenders up to the body line or further.
Hope that helps and Godspeed!!!!!!!!

Oh yeah one more thing possible sectioning the front fenders so the lugs dont hit them. Or you could swap to single wheel 8 lug and tuck the lugs in the fenders.

I'll stick with 16's, thanks.

thanks Lock!!!

I'm going to plan on doing a traditional b/d only because im going to probably be towing a 5th wheel setup trailer to tow my other projects to shows next year, so i'm unsure if i really trust the strength as much doing a SFBD. Can I get an inch or so out of the mounts on my truck, and then B/D the rest outta the floor?

I forgot about the front lug issues, which may be ok because we have a 87 pickup with 8 lug setup, i wonder if I can use the front spindle non-dually setup off that??

Also, any issues with the hydro-boost... and/or just shortening the steering shaft ??

thanks again

you know how we roll Chase...

I took the hydro boost off of mine but they sale an aftermarket one that is smaller than the factory and my steering shaft is collapsable so it was not a problem.

I also forgot to ask.. I have a box style C30 here that I was originally going to build... that I bought.

Should I swap the rear axle... ?? I may just widen and stretch the fenders instead... bc the rear setup in my truck is already done.
