It was available on b2000's on the lx package. Mine had it with a 5 speed, didn't work real well, so I removed and unfortunately trashed it, when installing my webber.
I am sure you could find factory parts for a 2600, and adapt early 2000 parts to a 2200.
You might be able to find the factory stuff in a junk yard, or order parts from mazda( expensive though).

My 87 still has all the cruise control stuff under the hood. It worked great last time I used it but its been a while and has been bodied, bagged, and weber'd since then so most of it isn't hooked up anymore.
