I forget the company name of who makes them but there is a company out that makes a sensor in the sheetmetal (for shaved handles) and you can touch the sensor on the door to pop it open.

Anyone know what I am talking about? Anyone used it? I saw it work at SEMA last year but thats it. Who knows how well it works after a year or so!

And I also want to know if its possible to wire it up so when you turn the alarm on, it can turn off that sensor so it wont pop when hit. Then when the alarm is off it activates the sensor to be able to open the doors?

leave your locks.. when you set the alarm it locks the door, that way the poppers wont work.

its in a truckin mag under new products, but i dont remember the company.

on my old s10 i had something similiar. it was a regular security sensor which you find in your regular household security alarm. all it was is a sensor with two wires and a magnet on the other end. the sensor would be wired one power one to the soleniod. we placed it in the upper corner behind the windshield. whenever your would wave a magnet over it it would pop the door because it would close the circuit and allow power to go through. something similiar not quiet the same.

whats the point in keeping the locks then the latch will be opening but it just won't let the door open. I would rather have the power cut off to it when the alarm is on.

And sorta the same thing with the magnet but this goes by touch you don't need anything jsut touch it.

I just want to get rid of my locks period. I never had them with shaved doors. What do you need locks for with no door handles? if someone wants to break in they will smash the window so locks don't matter anyway.

it is called watsonsstreetworks ....com.....MagTech TM Magnet Entry SystemThe magnet is the "key" to this trick system. Just place the magnet close to the hidden switch and it will send power to your actuator, solenoid or any momentary switched mechanism. Complete with "keys", switches, clips, 40-amp relays and a back-up button in case you misplace the keys.

#L20 (2-Door Set Up, Shown) $99.95 #L20S (1-Door Set Up) $54.95 Extra magnet "keys" #L20K (2) $15.00 #L20KS (1) $7.95

Please Note: StreetWorks unique wiring plan assures that wires inside the doors are only "hot" when activated, providing added security from short circuits. Also, magnetic fields do not work through steel but the hidden switch can be put under the lip of a fender or running board, behind glass, plastic, fiberglass, aluminum, stainless trim, filler or any non-magnetic material. If you can't figure out where to put the switch on your steel car, give us a call and we'll help.

In the system i am refering to There is NO magnet! it is just by touch. They were showing it at SEMA last year and I tried it. I just touched where the door handle was supposed to be and it popped open. No magnet. No remotes no special keys. Just my hand (and a million other people) and the sheetmetal on the door.

OK.. I just got ahold of my buddy who got the info from the company from SEMA.. The company or the set up is called Magic touch and what it will do is kill all power to the actuator when the alarm is armed so you can hit the spot all day long and it will not open the door untill the alarm is turned off.

the company site can be seen here http://lafranceautoworks.com/ They did a full install of it in the April 2006 issue of Sport Truck, the one with Chads truck on the cover.
