ok, i want to just put lowering springs my 97 dakota for now. going as low as i can on a fixed, mostly bolt on drop. my questions are...apparently, it's hard to find something simple for the crap 4 cylinder models. anyone know of a company who makes around a 3/5 or lower kit? djm i thought does, but the shop i was at that was gonna hook me up said they're kit only works for a 6 and 8 cylinder model. and question 2...how low can i go before i have to c-notch? i've heard only 4 inches and i'll bottom out. i don't know. so help please!

You can always but lower controll arms for the front, still uses the stock springs and rates, so it won't matter what engine you have. In the back a block will get you down where you need to be, again will not matter what engine.

i agree with ramsey...do control arms...djm 3"...youll be good in the front with that...in the back just do a block, or u could use a belltech shackle/hanger kit...

yeah, i was wanting a decent amount of drop in the rear...atleast 5", so i was thinking against using a 5" block. so a shackle kit and front arms would be best?

i think it would be better off personally...thats how i went for a long time....the hanger kit is a better ride than just using big blocks...and i dont really feel confortable putting more than like a 3 inch in there...thats just personal preference...also, the arms have always done really good for me....

in the rear i wouldnt do more than 4". i have a it 5" lower in the rear of my 04' and is sittong on bump stoms

If you want to be that extremely low, you should go head and save up the money to bag it and get it on the ground, you will be much more happy, the ride will be better, you can raise it up to avoud clearance problems, and its really cool to drag the shit out of it.

i have a 02 dakota with 4" drop hangers and 1" blocks it bottoms out but only if you hit a hard bump but i also have a 245/40/18 tire stock tires will rub and cause a lot of unwanted dammage especially if you blow a tire so no stock rims or tires it sit clean too check out my profile
good luck
