i wanted to make sure that the alternator on the 2.6 is the same as the one on the 2.3... I have the 2.6 motor-- I'm going to have the alt. rebuilt for more amps and I have one for a 2.3 already out of a truck (i want to keep driving while it's getting done) The part #'s are the same when ordering and the plugs look like they are the same... I don't know much about electrical systems so i wanted to be completely sure that they're interchangable. thanks

Why not get a GM 1-wire with 100 amps. They're like $100 for a chrome one. Easy to wire, easy to mount on just about anything.

if i put a 2.6 on my 2.3 will it make make more amps?

does rotation matter on alternators besides cooling?
