Factory Tach

My mazda has no factory tach.If i bought a cluster with one what will i need to do to have it work.??

i believe there is a plug already there for the tach.(this is where Russ jumps in.)

plug is already there, but you may have to reroute it to plug in

dont forget to move the speedo cable from the middle to the side, right now it is run through a bracket and if you leave it there it will kink and you will break the speedo cable in about 3/10ths of a mile.

It will work when you plug it in. The clock on that cluster may not though, some do, some dont. You might have to give the harness an extra wire for that to work.

AND if the tach DOES NOT work automatically, someone has replaced the coil and forgotten to plug in a wire at the (-) side, I think its yellow with a blue stripe. It has a spade terminal on it, so just plug it back in.
