I'm looking for a good forum to gather some knowledge for my newly aquired 68 Deville. Anyone have any suggestions? Mainly engine related discussion.

It's a 472 with the cowl built into the hood,400 tranny 5.5 with a 4.75 back space,Drive tran that hang's 1.5 lower than the frame.

1.5" lower than the frame? That's no good! Right now it's bagged and sits a couple inches off the ground with no real cutting and huge tires. The only old cars I've ever owned have been VW's so this thing is greek to me....not to mention it takes up my entire garage.

There kick ass cars and drive great when there tight.Also they where built around a soft spring and lay out pretty good.If you want to be the fuckin man you need move everything up and lay it on the frame.Then it would sit a half inch off the pinch.If you really got balls you could stock floor it to get that last half inch..Most people just build low drivers though.I only know of a few real hard core one's but there not done yet.I sold all the coupes I had a few months ago.I keeped my eldorado to drive to work.

sup arron,mine lays hard on the frame,,,i didnt raise anyhting up on mine,,ya cant drag the front all the way down or you will take the tranny pan off but mine is even with the frame,,the rear took a 2 inch notch to lay it out,,,all ya gotta do is section the pan and your good to go on the front,,i jsut drag the rear and the front xmember without layint it completly out
