alright, getting ready to pull my dash to glass it and paint it. is there any "hidden" screws or anything i need to know about? also, if i unhook my cluster, will it reset my odometer? i know how to get most of it out, just wanted a few pointers from someone who has done it already

What kind of truck do you have? I'm pretty sure there will be "hidden" rivets somewhere that you will need to find.

Some people will tell you that you don't need to sand down the whole texture on the dash and just make it smooth and then the rest will be filled in with primer. I would suggest spending more time and getting it completely smooth. I've seen so many painted dashes that have a slight bit of texture showing throught the paint and doesn't look good

ya the make model and year would help out alot on the hidden stuff, and u dont need to fiberglass it if u just want a painted stock dash and my advice is sand it completely smooth cause like he said it looks like u half assed it when u can see some texture through the paint, and it wont reset the odometer if u unplug it.

1996 Nissan Hardbody and i bought a gallon of fiberglass filler, will that do the trick of getting rid of the texture, or do i still need to sand it down pretty good??

haha dude dont bondo over the texture its just gonna flake off just sand it smooth, prime it, water sand it then paint the thing.

and i cant help on the hidden stuff i never built a mini truck....

^^ Agreed. Fiberglass or bondo isnt needed unless you're completely changing the shape of your dash. A high build primer will fill in all the texture. I had to prime and sand my dash twice to get it completely smooth and then it was ready for paint.

so just treat it like a body panel, no filler unless i wanna change something about it?? aight thanks

The dash should be sanded down and glassed. If you dont,it will eventuall crack or the paint will peel
