Is my compressor shot?

yea i dont run viar anymore,havent had nothing but bad luck with them,the only comp that i have had luck with is the d/c 5000 from aim,runs like a champ

i had 1 viair 450 it creapped out the bearing broke on the connecting rod so i got a new bearing then the flap went on the piston. so i ought a new one it works great. then igot the dc5000 from aim and it sucked it keps poppin curcuit breakers and it killed my alternator it drained so much amps it sucked

i havent had any bad luck out of it but it does draw alot of amps,i have the stock alternator and i cant run the comp while the lights are on and im sitting still,i wonder how many amps that stock alternator is on my chevy,its a 350

I've been running one 450 for over 3 years, and one for around 2 years... still pumping the same cfms that they did on day one (i just timed them yesterday as a matter of fact... compressors tend to not break when you treat them properly and operate them within the specs they are designed for.

i believe that the stock alternator is 105 amps...I have a DC5000 also, and the only prob i have out of it is that damn ground on the circuit breaker...i have repaced it with a bigger ground and no probs so far...cept i cant crank up the tunes, use the ac and run the compressor at the same time at a stop light.....i get down to like 10amps and the truck damn near shuts off...

Are there really people out there promoting laim companies? To each his own. Run what you like, for better or worse.
