yes the stinger ones are the shit but cost like 50 bux dont buy the ford starter solenoid it will only last you bout a week

thanks yall stinger 80 amp it is...but i can still not run the pressure switch right i like the toggle better ,will that cause a prob?

yea those ford starter solenoids are as cool as herpes.

If you can't find the Stinger solenoid, Napa Auto Parts # ST-87 is an industrial grade 85 amp continuous duty solenoid. I replaced the stock solenoid in the Comet to be safe. I've seen this solenoid run 4 Viair 450s, so it'll definitely handle your 2 380s.
I've used the Viair pressure switches, and they're alright, but when you're using a solenoid they're overkill. Use whatever switch you can get ahold of and make sure your tank doesn't have moisture in it- this is what will kill the switch, other than overloading the circuit.
Yes, of course you can wire a toggle switch directly to the solenoid instead of using a pressure switch. It's just going to suck the first time you forget to turn it off and either damage your pumps or blow a line!
FBI's switches are only 10 bucks with a membership- that's cheap insurance against blowing your $200 compressors up!

thanx for the info phil,i have two viar p switches in the shop ,just hate them goin off at certain times in pretty good at watchin my gauges so overfilling the tank should not be a prob,is the relay you spoke of a little black square type or the metal type?

one more question,if each 380 max aps are 17 should iuse a 15 or 20 amp fuse for each compressor in the ditrobution block?

i dont have a pressure switch,i just have mine with 8guage wire running into a 60amp toggle the 2 the comp.i kept burning up psi switches and the wires kept gettin hot,i dont have a guage tellin me how much ait i have in the tank i just let it run till i get enough air then air it up all the way 2 see what the psi is then set my ride height, yea i know it eaise 2 have a guage but im waiting till i build my console and can make it look all neat and nice

if you were burning up pressure switches i can tell you why.. there only meant to act as a switching means on a relay, if you run the power wire for your compressor directly through them they will cook very fast. you would wire the pressure switch with either the ground or hot acting as the switching means on the relay that sends the power to the compressor.

yea i have never understood that either,i had the same comp on my mazda and it had a relay but burned them up 2,the wires are 2 small on the relays 2,i have found that the best way 2 run it is the way i have it set up,the comp runs strong and nothing gets hot and breaks,i know if i hooked it up on a relay i would deff bring a few and have a extra psi switch
