i have some questions for all you ford motor masters out there. i have an 86 302 non roller block that is .040 over and i dont want to bore it more so i am going to get a new block. my question is since i bought a ton of stuff for the 302 do i need to stay with it or can i but some 302 heads and 289 performer intake on a 351w block without any worries or to many headaches.

sorry for the long post and thanks for any helpMark

here is a really good site to check out for pretty much anything you need to know

hope that helps some

You could use the heads with a little work on the bolt holes cause 302 and 351 used different sized bolts. But the intake won't work because 351 is wider than a 302. But the Fordtrucks.com is a great website for all kinds of information but most on there aren't too keen on lowering trucks, that may just be in the 73-79 forum where I used to hang out.

thanks guys I think I will just stick to the 302 cause I already have a painted intake manifold

read this article, i've got a 351 in my '68, but it makes me want a h.o. 302 instead! There's something to be said for displacement too though... I don't think I'd let a intake be the decision maker though, those are too cheap to determine what you want just based on that...
