Ahoy, I was looking at the crazy ass mess of vacume lines under the hood of my 86 b2600 and I thought of the webber carb everyone talks about. If I swap carbs will I be able to get rid of most or all of those lines and still be able to pass emissions? What is the model of carb I want?

Also, what are those 2 tubes coming off of the exhaust manifold and going down the pipe for?

I always thought they were Weber carbs...

if you get rid of the stock carb you might actually have better emissions than a stock original carb, but you will fail visual inspection.

Sorry.

The tubes are air injection to help give oxygen to the cat which makes it work better.

If you use a weber carb can you still connect the Charcoal canister up? As long as thats there I will be legal.

I think it goes to the fuel tank and the carb?

Because Im going to do a full rebuild on My 2000 and Im gonna whack on all the goodies, see how much performance I can get out of the old girl.

Umm, you would need a weber carb with a vacuum or solenoid actuated float bowl vent so you could route it to the canister. I'm not sure if weber made them with that option. Many of the Holley 5200s found on production cars did though.
