New paint needs time to fully cure , we tell people at our body shop to wait 90 days before waxing after paint work .(thats right from the paint rep at a sikens class i took )
chances are that your new car was built 2-3 plus months ago by the time you get it .. Take a look at the build date . In gm cars/trucks you can find the built date on a sticker in the drivers door jam , not sure on other makes ..
True but factory paint is baked at 300 plus so it cures better than what a body shop can do, so no wait time for a brand new car. most dealers offer a paint sealant which is a waste, but it is usally just a teflon wax or a high end wax and they put them on right after you get the car.
