I have been looking for the same information latelly. There is anouther forum on the site that tells how to raise your factory tank in the stock location. I have also been thinking about getting a fuel tank from a Tahoe or Yukon. This way I can use my factory style pump that has just over 3000 miles on it and it will go between the frame rails behind the axle. Not sure which way I am going to go. It depends on funds this winter.

you can use a blazer tank, and mount it where the spare tire goes, that what i am doing

i moved mine to the bed. i extended the fuel lines and the 2 wires that connect to the tank. i got the fuel line from advance auto. cost me about $35 for everything

i sectioned my factory crossmember where the gas tank sat so it sits a little higher then it did before but its in the same place:uzi:

Whats up guy's. What I did on mine was I sectioned the front half of the tank that rests under the cab in half and re-welded another skin on it. YOU MUST HAVE THE TANK HOT TANKED AT A RADIATOR SHOP OR ENGINE SHOP BEFORE ANY WELDING! then I sectioned the stock brackets so the tanks front strap bracket was flush with the bottom of the frame and welded them back together. You will have to gusset the brackets to retain their strength. On the back strap it will be too long after you have raised the tank, Cut the strap near where the bolt goes up into the crossmember and shorten it to the desired length. Re-weld the strap back together and DO NOT grind the welds down. When you are done welding it, fill it with water, pressurize it and Check for leaks. If you have no leaks, purchase the 2 part epoxy gas tank sealer that you slosh throughout the tank. Let it cure and you are good to go. Now My frame was boxed with the body drop so I had a good flat surface to bolt the modified brackets to. I just drilled the frame and tapped the new holes.Use grade 8 bolts when bolting it to the frame. Keep in mind, you will have to use a triangulated 4 link if you go 4 link in the future because the stock tank will be in the way of a taditional 4-link. Good luck and let me know if I can help with more detailed info. I don't know if I have any build pics, I will search for some. L8R
