Joining air compressors

GDay guys,Im new to spray painting and this forum.I am unable to run 3 phase power so is it possible to join say 3 small compressors (e.g. 2hp) together to get a decent cfm rating? has n e one down this?or am i better off just buying a big f$#koff compressor?

I wouldn't see why not? just run them both into the same tank or tie the tanks together.
