Mornin, been up all night pondering and searching for as much info as I can about D17's from the 2002 civ ex. I have my 94 that needs a new motor from when it got jacked a while back and I recently came in posession of just the vehicle mentioned above in salvagable condition. The reason I am considering the use of it is because of the low miles and the economy of the newer design (not too concerned with power). Any ways, I am looking for info about puting that motor into the 5th gen. Shouldn't have to hunt for parts since I have the whole front clip. Hasport doesn't advertise any mounts and other searches keep taking me to the K-series. If this shit is too much trouble I'll just part it out and use that money to go ahead and buy something that will work. BUt your info is appreciated!

as a former owner of a 2002 ex (d17) - its a good lil motor as for the mounts your best bet is to call them and find out if they have them. or goto a local shop to fab some up. i would just go with a b16 or even a b18 myself.

A good site for that sort of info is www.7thgencivic.com its all about the 2001 to 2005 civic

that motor wont fit the frame on these cars are too differnt you would have to make everthing custom and change the wiring gauges and brain in the car and the 02 has a subframe to much work

Just part the car and buy yourself a cheap z6. Save yourself the headache, not worth it in my opinion.

That motor will fit. Buddy of mine just finished swaping it into a 4th gen hatch. Not sure of the mounts, i'll ask him what he used. Wiring is a little differnt. I'll see whats up next time i talk to him.
