ive never fucked with a c10, but ive heard you have to z your frame cuz the front crossmember hangs down a couple inches. after thats done i guess it lays body, or comes really really close. so just "z" your frame

If you Z it 2 and 5/8" to 3", it will be within 1/2" of the rocker when layed out.

You can Z the frame, or section the crossmember somehow and that will get you down with out having to raise the motor up. I've never done the section but the Z is pretty simple if you have an engine hoist. I hear the sectioning of the crossmember is a little harder to do but worth the effort.

gunna body drop your truck, but you cznt figure out how to get it to fully lay. sounds scary to me..

best bet on those trucks are to z the front.

if you want to lay rocker, cut the bottom off the frame thats under that cab and plate it. if you do it that way, you are looking at a 3.5-4" z.

thats what my boy did on his. heres his profile.

It never fails. A guy asks a question and there's always got to be someone say something negative. Why can't you just be a nice guy and answer the guys question? You know, everyone on this site had a "first" truck. You think when Chip Foose thought about his first car/truck, his dad looked at him and said "you want to body drop it but but you can't figure out how to get it to lay, scary to me". Before my truck, I never bagged any trucks, never shaved any doors, never built any frames. But because of this site and others I have now. No thanks to unhelpful people like you.

zing the frame is the best thing.. crossmember drops can be a pain if you dont know what you're doing, but zing the frame isnt hard at all.. z it 3" and you'll lay rocker on 20's no problem.

You don't need to bodydrop these trucks to lay body. If you do a notch and link in the back it'll lay no prob. up front, I suggest sectioning the crossmember, this, contrary what people say, is easier than z'ing the frame. When you z the frame you have to worry about all kinds of shyte, sectioning the member is fairly simple and if you do it right there are only two things you may run into problems with really, stearing shaft to upper control arm rubbing, and tie rod rubbing. This will lay the frame flat front to back, but if you still wanna lay body... These are the numbers from my truck, the frame is only 1/4" lower than the pinch of the rocker, and 3/4" if you cut the pinch off, soo theoretically to lay rocker you need to bodydrop 3/4", but who wants to bodydrop that little when you can be creative and get that 3/4" out of the fat OEM body mounts, think about it....I actually just did the measuring last night and gots me a crossmember to hack up today, $10 is a steal.... Here are a couple links to check out and you'll have all the info you need.

I ran across this pic on here once when I was building my old truck. Good idea for steering shaft.
