one thing ive been wondering for a while now is this. for the guys who have trucks that need to open the tailgate to get the taillights out, what happens if the gate is welded shut and your bulb burns out? like on 94+ S10s and tacomas. anything that has the removal screws in the jam basically. ive wondered that every time i see something with stock location tails and welded shut. maybe they just use LED bulbs, i dunno. thanks.

on alot of those trucks they dont have a tailgate at all... just the skin... so you can easily reach in and undo the screws
as long as you weld the front and back of the skin; and i like to use a 1 1/4 inch bar to reinforce the bedsides, you wont have any problems

you make an angle iron frame

then drill and tap a few holes and make a sheetmetal cover for the inside so you can remove it to get to the bulbs and shit

If i am correct i think ur2hi did it with his fullsize. Same kinda deal screws on the inside of the jam. With the gate welded shut. But again if im correct the braces for the skin are place where you put them. So just don't cover up the screws. Thats something i would probably do! Haha. Basically just a repeat of that guy ^^ sorry dude.
