i'm loving this truck, but this is the only photo i've seen of it from all the Ludikrs '06 coverage. i'm just wondering if anyone has any more pics of it or any info on how it was bagged and whatnot. i'm looking to buy a similar truck and just want to know what's involved beforehand. thanks a lot.

The truck is a datsun 521, im building one right now. They are fairly simple to bag, just a basic torsion bar setup. Same as a mazda, or toyota, or nissan just a little smaller. If you have any questions feel free to ask me. Heres a pic of mine in the current state its in, it should be done by next show season:

BTW, body dropping is a pain because of the solid shaft steering column, the column is itegral with the steering box. If i decide to body drop mine, im going to use a 240 steering box and an IDIDIT column.

thanks for your post. your frame is lookin sweet thus far. what wheels are those and what size are they? i had a Ranger before, so i'm not real familiar with torsion bar setups. i've seen a couple with SBCs in them, is there a lot of work needed to stuff one of those in?

The wheels are 18x8 Infiniti QX56's. A small block wouldnt be to hard, just a lot of cutting on the firewall, and making a huge tranny hump. I would do a small block, but i totally screws the handling and the weight distibution of the truck. Im going to do a SR20DET or a CA18DET turbo motor to stay inside the nissan family.

i was thinking the same thing about swapping in a small block. maybe i can put in a VTEC or something, haha. you opted to keep the 6-lung pattern than change over to a Toyota rearend? i'll definitely be keeping tabs on your progress and i'd like to ask some questions down the line if ya don't mind. thanks for the info.
