baggin my buddies 99 extreme.got the complete sd weld on s-10 3 link, and the damn diff bracket doesnt fit!!!! i had to modify all the holes, cut it bigger, chop up the spacer and buy different bolts cause the threads were metric. it took me hours to make it fit.

is this cause exteremes have a bigger rear end, or are canadian models different than u.s. models?

I would have sent that bracket back to SD. I realy don't think they are puting a different rear-end in trucks up there. Should be a standard 10 bolt rear-end. I think SD sent you the wrong bracket, probably for an import (seeing as you had metric bolts).

s10's have 2 rear ends.. 1 is a 7.5 1 is an 8.5 you might of gotten the 8.5 which isnt common.

imports dont have those bolts. the threads on the diff were metric, not the kit.so maybe canadian models are different, alot of the hardware on the truck is metric.i just wanted 2 know if anyone had heard of this problem?

give them a call tomorrow and explain the situation. they know a grip about s-10s. so just give them a friendly call and im sure they will point you in a direction or be able to do something for you.

That's just the way they are. Like posted earlier there are 2 different rear ends in S-10's, the 7-5/8 and the 8-1/2". If you had to cut it bigger he probably got one for the 7-5/8 but has a 8-1/2. Is the truck a 4.3 with a 5-spd?

yea, the truck is a 4.3 5-spd, so it must have the 8-1/2 you speak of.
anyways we got it on there and we will be finished bagging it today.
i just thought doing an s-10 would be easy!
