My front cross member met up with a man-hole cover while dragging, now it has a nice curve in it. So i need two things.

1. Any one have an extra front crossmember that I can use as a jig to build me a new one. I'm willing to pay.

2. Whats the best way to support the front of the truck to make sure there is no stress on the cross member when i take it out. I imagine that I need to support the truck and the front suspension.

thanks

Pull the crossmember out, it will be fine. I took mine out and put it back in a few times before completely ditching it for another one.

no, I cant recommend that. It ties the lower suspension members together.

My friend did that exact thing in his ext cab, he said the truck stopped DEAD from like 30mph and when he got out, the wheels were both pointing crosseyed haha. He bent his lower suspenion ties too though, if yours is still aligned I would say you can just find a junkyard crossmember and put it in.

I did not mean to drive with it out. I'm just saying its fine to pull it out to swap crossmembers, or make a new one.

oh, ok, your post ended with "completely ditching it" so I incorrectly assumed that was your advice.

Seth is right, no special prep to take it out. although be careful, there is likely a LOT of tension on that due to the bend, so dont let it whack you in the face when you get it loose.
